Sterling Silver Resin Rings

They're finally here! Here are 3 photos of my first set of resin rings I've made. All of them set on sterling silver. This technique can't be rushed and it takes a lot of patience, but for my first time- I think it turned out great!

Cherry Blossom

Red flower petal

Pink flower

I love the dimensional look so you will see more of that in my other rings. As long as it fits within the dimensions- I can pretty much create anything, yes I've already had photo requests too! These specific ones are not for sale, but if you're interested in rings or may have an idea of your own, you can email me.

I love the way they turned out!

I posted another custom charm bracelet made for Linda's friend some time last week. A simple style for the new birthday mom! The photo on the left is her wearing the bracelet. A perfect photo charm of her baby. Gotta love the purple colors.. I know I do!!

Charm bracelet requests: Don't worry- I still have emails to answer and I have all requests written down and will be working on the next ones soon. Thank you again for your patience. I promise- school is almost done for me and when I'm finished.. I will even be 100x more productive!! I promise!! =D

Behind the Scenes

Krystal Rae Photoshoot

Krystal Rae Jewelry shoot. Today I wasn't the jewelry designer, but the make-up artist. Just a photo of my messy work station. Messy in a good way of course. I usually work on location, but for this shoot we met at the counter. The looks were dependent on the clothing and the jewelry which the models were wearing.

Above is Kim N. working on one of the models. Hair by Kechelle!

Kechelle working on the other models hair.

Here are photos of the groupettes!! I loved them all! They are amazing jewelry made from Krystal and seeing them in person was just as exciting. She is such a talented designer and it's great to see another jewelry designer taking it to another level.

Her work is AMAZING and I love her originality. These are definitely pieces with a statement!

Of course I'm going to save the best for last! Here's a photo I took of the necklace she gave me as a gift!! I was so excited because I always make gifts and jewelry for other people- so I don't really get the same in return. The best part of this is it's handmade and came from Krystal herself. (I'm all about thoughtful gifting!) I don't know which part of the necklace is my favorite.. the rock-like pendant or the neon beading. I love this gift and I think I was just as excited wearing it than my own charm bracelets. I'm very lucky to have worked with her and hopefully we will work with this great NY jewelry designer again in the future. I will post the final photos from the shoot when they're done editing. We were all a great team that day (models, Kim, Kechelle and Krystal!)

New custom charm bracelet photo added!

Check out Jian's first bracelet request. Made for a fashion graduate of FIDM in LA!

I'll end this blog entry with a picture that Eloy did with the bracelet I made for her. I love this collage because she really focused on the charms and brought out the great colors. It's great to see other customers take photos because we all have different views of how we see things. Here are more photos from customers: Fan Photos. I use to think I just made jewelry that people just liked to look at. Now I've noticed people have a story to tell and I love re-creating it for them. I've been told, that's what makes me stand out from the rest!

The Fashionista

Sneak peek of the bracelet that one lucky Hampton Roads Magazine reader will win!

The web editor for the magazine LOVES it and says that she thinks the readers will be quite happy with this! I will be dropping it off today to their graphics department so now it's all up to you! The Fashionista

A decade by decade review of how far fashion has evolved.

This next request is for the FIDM student fashionista. This will be one of two orders and of course I consider my bracelets 'fashionable', but this one sets a high bar! I hope this stylista is more than happy with what I come up with. This one's gonna be classic.

Jewelry Designer Krystal Rae

I've recently posted the final photo of Kathy's bracelet request and she loved how it turned out! Here's the next piece I will be working on..

These are some of my ideas (but not limited to) of what I have in mind for the promotion I will have with Hampton Roads Magazine. More details soon to come within the week! I loved the blue & yellow combination I used on Ashley's beach themed bracelet so I wanted to use that and add some neutral tones to it. I should be done putting it together no later than Friday! Excited to see how it turns out.

Jewelry Designer: Krystal Rae
If you didn't know, I also have been a make-up artist for the last 5 years. I still freelance every once in awhile for weddings and all kinds of other events in the area. A friend of mine referred me to fill in for her (thank you Kim!)for a photo shoot this weekend. Crazy thing is the photo shoot is for a jewelry designer! Krystal Rae used to also live in this area but is currently doing her thing in NYC! She will be having a jewelry shoot this weekend and I will be doing the make-up for her models. I can't wait to work with her and jewelry gossip! (yeah, I pretty much just made that phrase up) We will be shooting this Sunday in Norfolk, Va. Check out her site to see her work!

Women's Career Event
I've also recently been asked to participate in 'Just for Women's Career Event' at O.D.U. held by The Virginian Pilot. I have to decline because I have school and you know with me, school comes first. It sounds like a great opportunity to see other businesses and vendors. If you're free you should definitely see what's available out there! I'm sure there will be other jewelry designers and other amazing and talented business women from the area! If you would like to go or become a vendor, here are the details:

When: August 12, 2010. 10am-3pm

New Look for the Site!!

If you're reading this you obviously can see that JenLove Jewelry has a new and fresh look! No more scrapbooking and flower backgrounds. I mean, it was fun while it lasted. I wanted a simpler and cleaner look and with business getting busier and constant updates, I wanted to make sure the site didn't get too disorganized and still be able to put out the information I needed.
Here's a photo of one of the first resin pendants I made and some ideas I may add to it. Matching rustic bronze necklace with possible maroon and red beads. The smaller red stone beads may be a little too bright, but we'll see what works out. This isn't my next jewelry piece I'm working on of course. I have a TON of custom charm bracelets to finish up and still haven't gotten to the point where there's been a break- but that's a good thing, right?
I finished Kathy's charm bracelet and will post tomorrow so please check back! I will be starting on the next order and also this week will be putting together my giveaway bracelet with the promotion I have with Hampton Roads Magazine! I've decided on a beach-like nautical theme because that was the first thing I thought of. Everything else will come to me when I put it together. I had a great weekend and hopefully this school week goes by fast for me. I always work better when I'm in a good mood!

Germany's Newest & Upcoming Designer

Germany's newest & upcoming designer, and also someone I happen to know! Michele Kirkpatrick will be opening up her new accessory line Michele's Closet September of this year. I'm SO excited for her and totally wished I lived in Germany. We've found each other within the last year and I had no idea she's been pursuing her passion in the fashion world this whole time. Above is a couture hair piece she made herself that I am in LOVE with. When it comes to fashion and style, I'm definitely more into the artful side of things and anything with an edgy and dramatic feel. Her style is amazing and she pretty much does everything so you can call her your personal stylist!

Here is a photo of her inside SenCy Boutique in Turkey where she worked as a stylist and had an all day photo shoot for the boutiques advertising. She did hair, makeup, wardrobe and assisted the model.

Photo on the left is Michele fixing the hair of the model while she works on the photo shoot in Turkey. She asked me to make her a necklace & matching set she can wear when she celebrates her new accessory line. Of course I accepted! I have 2 months to get the set together. She sent me photos of what she had in mind and I will try my best to design it to her liking. I'm just really excited because I love supporting other people who are ambitious and who 'Skip the baby steps and just take one big jump'. There's no room for errors or working in progress when it comes to wanting to stand out from others and finishing on top.

Special Delivery!!

So I was pretty excited yesterday when I finally got my goodies in the mail. Here's a photo of what I'm looking at before putting Kathy's bracelet together. She wants black, silver and a little maroon. I have her requested charms ready and a photo of her boys! I can't wait to see how this turns out. She's also the buyer of my 'Bronze Hearts' set! I have a mixture of plastic, glass and Swarovski beads. I'm also thinking about using dark silver spacers to add a classic touch. This is probably a bracelet she plans on wearing with basic outfits so I think adding an aged look to it would be great.

A radio listener's Request

This radio listener wasn't requesting a song, but instead a charm bracelet! Jackie is a listener of 99 WMYX all the way from Milwaukee and heard about my jewelry through Kim Iverson's show! She emailed me in hopes to get a charm bracelet designed before her birthday (It's not till Feb!). Let's just say I definitely finished it before then. She knew about the requests I was getting and wanted to make sure she requested it in time.

As you know I'm gaga over this resin thing now so I'm  happy with how her name charm turned out. It gives a perfect glass finish (when done right). I just made a little design on Photoshop with her name and turned it into this charm. This bracelet had some challenges, but it worked out in the end. To see the full photo and story go to Charm Bracelet Requests.

I've gotten 3 more requests this month. Looks like the vintage style, being a fashionista and new mommies are becoming popular. You'll soon know what I'm talking about. Thank you everyone for your patience!

I also have to add that my Facebook Page is doing great and I have 600+ fans! Between my FB page and my website, both have helped me a lot and I couldn't be more happier. It's a lot of work but I like having control of everything I do. I'm not a web master genius or a pro photographer, but apparently all those late nights of learning basic coding, photoshop tricks and being computer savvy all these years paid off! Oh, how I love technology =P
